  • Past: Give a glimpse into your journey: where you started, the skills you’ve built, or the industries you’ve worked in that brought you here.

  • Future: Close with where you are headed, and how this role fits beautifully into your path forward.


This structure helps you stay clear and concise while weaving your story together in a way that feels intentional and compelling.

You might say something like:

“I’m currently a project coordinator in the tech space, where I lead cross-functional initiatives that improve team efficiency and streamline communication. Before that, I studied business management and worked in operations, which gave me a strong foundation in process improvement and team leadership. Looking ahead, I’m excited to bring those skills into a role like this one, where I can contribute to meaningful projects and continue growing as a leader.”

Practice saying your story out loud. This builds comfort and flow so your answer feels effortless in the moment. Aim for 90 seconds to 2 minutes which is enough to paint a clear picture while leaving space for the interviewer to dive deeper.



2. “Why do you want to work here?”


This question is an invitation to show alignment. It allows you to connect your personal values, career goals, and enthusiasm with the company’s mission and culture. Employers want to see that you have taken the time to understand who they are, what they stand for, and how you can contribute to their success.


How to Prepare

Preparation here is about weaving together research with authenticity. Start by learning about the company. Explore their website, recent press releases, social channels, and LinkedIn updates. Pay attention to their values, their vision, and the projects they are most proud of. Then, connect what you discover with your own career path.


Think about:

  • What excites you about the role itself?

  • How does the company’s mission align with your own values?

  • What opportunities for growth, learning, or impact do you see in this environment?


When you can answer those questions with clarity, you will naturally create a response that feels both genuine and inspiring.

You might say something like:

3. “What do you know about our company?”


This question is your opportunity to show that you have done your homework and that you are genuinely curious about the organization. Employers want to see that you are intentional about where you invest your energy and that you see more than just a job, but a place where you can grow and contribute.


How to Prepare

Go beyond the basics. Of course, you will want to know the essentials like what the company does, their products or services, and their mission statement. But the real juice is when you dig deeper. 4. “What are your strengths?”


This question gives you the chance to highlight what you do best and how those strengths translate into value for the role. It’s more than listing qualities. It’s about painting a clear picture of how your natural abilities, skills, and experiences create impact.


How to Prepare

Begin by identifying two or three strengths that are most relevant to the role. Look closely at the job description and notice what the company emphasizes: teamwork, leadership, problem-solving, adaptability, technical expertise. Then, select strengths that align with those qualities.


Once you have chosen them, bring your answer to life with real examples. Stories help your strengths feel authentic and memorable. Ask yourself:

  • When have I demonstrated this strength in action?

  • What was the outcome?

  • How did it contribute to the success of a project, team, or company?


This approach allows you to move beyond surface-level traits and show exactly how your strengths make a difference.

You might say something like:

“One of my key strengths is communication. In my current role, I often serve as the bridge between technical teams and leadership, making sure information flows clearly and decisions can be made quickly. 5. “What’s your biggest weakness?”

7. “Give me an example of working in a team.”

Think of a project or initiative where teamwork played a central role. Choose a story that highlights not only what you did, but also how you supported and elevated the group as a whole. Use the STAR method here as well, it gives structure while keeping your answer engaging and clear.


Reflect on:

  • How did you contribute to the team’s goal?

  • What role did you naturally step into (i.e. leader, collaborator, problem-solver, or connector)?

  • How did your actions create a positive impact for the group or the project?

You might say something like:

“In my last role, I was part of a cross-functional team tasked with improving the onboarding experience for new hires. My focus was creating a clear training schedule and ensuring communication flowed smoothly between HR, IT, and department managers. 9. “Why should we hire you?”


This question is your spotlight moment. It’s your chance to connect the dots for the interviewer and make it crystal clear why you are the right person for the role. Think of it as your personal pitch. It is an opportunity to bring together your skills, your experiences, and your energy into one powerful statement.


How to Prepare

The best way to approach this question is to focus on three pillars: Skills, Cultural Fit, and Impact.

  • Skills: Highlight the specific abilities and expertise that make you effective in the role.

  • Cultural Fit: Share how your values and working style align with the company’s culture and mission.

  • Impact: Illustrate the results you’ve created in the past and the contributions you’re ready to bring in the future.


This structure allows you to build a confident, well-rounded answer that feels both professional and personal.

You might say something like:

“You should hire me because I bring a blend of skills and experiences that match this role perfectly. 10. “Do you have any questions for us?”


This is more than a formality, it’s your opportunity to step into the role of a thoughtful, intentional professional. When you ask meaningful questions, you show curiosity, preparation, and a genuine interest in both the company and the people you may soon be working with. It also allows you to gather valuable insight so you can make sure the role aligns with your own goals and values.


How to Prepare

Before the interview, create a list of 3–4 thoughtful questions. Aim for questions that go deeper than what you can find on the company’s website. Focus on areas like growth opportunities, team dynamics, leadership style, or what success looks like in the role. This shows you are already thinking like someone who belongs there.


Consider asking about:

  • Success: “What does success look like in this role after six months?”

  • Growth: “What opportunities for learning and development do you encourage?”

  • Culture: “How would you describe the team’s working style?”

  • Impact: “What upcoming projects or goals are most important for this department?”

You might say something like:

“Yes, I’d love to know more about how success in this role will be measured over the first year. Understanding that helps me see how I can make the greatest impact from the very beginning.”
